Here are a couple of sneak peeks at a new mural I am doing for CanCan Night Club here in Seattle. It measures 15x10 feet so the ostrich is five feet tall! It is fun to paint but is taking a while. I'll post the whole thing as soon as its done.

I'll be gathering signatures today on a petition to ban battery confinement of egg laying hens in Washington State. If you see nice people with clip boards at your local event today please sign the petition to stop this cruel practice. We'll be at Pride in Seattle and Hands Across the Sand (against off shore drilling) in Alki. Here is the web site explaining this important cause. We have until July 4 to get all our petitions filled.

I recently sold a number of paintings and currently have three shows under way so my studio is feeling empty. People have been asking me what I have available to sell and I shrug.
It is time to get organized! I have updated my mailing list, updated Quickbooks, and for the first time ever I did an inventory of available paintings. I am happy to say that there are more than I thought! Also I get a kick out of seeing all these tiny thumbnails gathered together.
I suppose I could put some kind of indicator on my web site to tell people if a painting is for sale or not but I think that would clash with the intimate and emotional nature of my work. Thinking about business is so hard for me.
Enough book keeping. It is time to get back into the studio to do what I really love.
Update 25 July. The white chicken and white rabbit at the top center of these thumbnails have sold.

These four paintings are in a show that opens tonight in the lovely town of Twisp, in Eastern Washington. They will be at Confluence Gallery until the 23rd of July. (The large moose painting has already sold and may be replace shortly with something else). If you in the area why not drop by tonight from 4 -8 pm tonight, Saturday. Say hi to Laura who curated this show.

Here are two versions of the same little lamb. The first, called "Jump For Spring" is a small six inches across and the second, called "Jump For Joy" is ten inches across. I painted the second one as part of my current interest in modeling simple shapes with shadow and light. I've chosen to leave out the curly wool in favor of the basic shape.
I would have called him a "Gamboling Lamb" but I don't know if anyone says that any more.

You can see these five paintings at Macrina Bakery in Queen Anne, Seattle, for the month of June. It is a small show and I chose only some of my "white" paintings for it. They have a calm and peaceful effect hung on that huge wall, which has recently been painted a soft grey. Perfect.
They are all for sale and range in price from $300 - $700. I may not be able to part with the chicken which is starting to feel like my mascot lately. I am quite fond of it. Also the rabbit. And the goat. And all of them, in fact.
