Spring is erupting all around me and I am almost feeling assaulted by it. Maybe I am just in a bad mood today but I am detecting something disturbing in the relentless pace of nature.

The Quince are too extravagant.

The Forsythia are screaming.

The Tulips are alarmingly sexual.

And the Fritillaria Imperialis are just terrifying.
Ha ha! Yes, well, there is a reason they always had that maypole thing in the spring, I think. It is the sexy season for plants and animals at least! They can't help it, though. :) Love the priapic tulip, mine have been more demure so far but I will have to keep an eye on them.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you the other day!
I so know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteOverwhelms one, doesn't it just.
That scrambled-egg-on-a-stick Forsythia would be hard to take in any season.
It all gets worse in June I find.
