The indigo, which likes temperatures above 80 degress farenheit, is struggling to hold on and is barely an inch tall. This despite my coddling it by carrying it around the garden to catch the elusive morning sun and differently situated afternoon sun. Poor little things. But at least I can see the leaf structure.

Indigo and Woad Update
A few weeks ago I planted indigo and woad in my garden. You can see the seeds here. These plants are both traditional sources of blue dye. As predicted the woad, which is suited to our cool damp climate in Seattle, is thriving and I'll harvest it later in the summer to try vat dyeing with it.

These are absinthe spoons. The fish with breasts? - well it is a burlesque club. The curtained door to the bar is modeled on the entrance to the Paris Metro. The plants are wormwood and anise - the ingredients of absinthe.
