I love hollyhocks. They are not common here in the States but a couple of hours away in Canada they are easy to find in people's gardens. The English garden influence maybe being felt in Canada and in India? Or are they native to India? Hmm. Some reading to do.

beautiful! i wish i had enough sunlight in my shady garden to grow sunflowers. but to make up for the lack, i have hollyhocks instead.
