A Favorite Fabric

I love this piece of old linen so much I don't want to make anything with it. So I take it out once in a while to admire it and then store it away again.

It clearly takes its inspiration from ancient Egyptian wall paintings.

Opal thinks it is boring.

  1. I have some fabric like that--just can't bring myself to make anything because I like looking at it so much. BTW, saw my first pill bug today along with way too many other creepy crawlies. Wing Nut was out collecting samples for the Junior Gardeners' Seminar on Sun. The kids will be learning about good bugs/bad bugs. Hope someone else is bringing the good bugs because WN has only fouund BAD bugs in our yard.

  2. Beautiful Egyptian geese. I wouldn't know what to make with it either. The little 'Palm tree' is a liverwort "flower" or sporagia, it's happy and reproducing. Yes it is a great peony year, lots of heat and no rain to wreak havoc with those heavy headed flowers. Can't wait to see the paintings.

  3. Curmudgeon - Your first pill bug of the year? I see dozens every day. Hmm. Maybe there is something wrong with my soil.
Thanks for the liverwort ID Daniel. My mum has warned me that it can spread but I think my garden is too dry and sunny.
